Courts where W&M handle appeals With proper notice and payment of fees and expenses, Wood & Meredith, generally, will represent clients before the United States Supreme Court, Washington, D.C., the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, Atlanta, Georgia, (Georgia Cases Only) the Georgia Supreme Court, Atlanta, Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals, Atlanta, Georgia. Cases handled by W&M Wood & Meredith accepts only civil cases. We do not accept any criminal appeals at the state or federal level. Documents needed to begin the appeal process If we have had no involvement with the case at the trial court level, we will need a complete copy of the pleadings on file at the trial court, including any interlocutory appeals filed during the course of the pre-trial or trial phase of the case, a complete copy of trial counsel's file (if it can be obtained), any post trial motions (New Trial, JNOV, etc.), the Notice of Appeal (if it has been filed) and any pleadings (Motions) or exhibits filed with the appellate court. Fees for W&M appellate services Generally, fees run at or above $350.00 per hour, plus expenses, for every hour devoted to your appeal. Sometimes a flat fee for an appeal may be negotiated, however, it varies with regard to the appellate court and the type of case involved. Unless prohibited by the State Bar Rules, we will consider appeals on a percentage (%) basis only where the appeal seeks to preserve a money judgment obtained at the trial court level or a significant corpus or parcel of real property needs to be protected by Appellee on appeal.
